AT FIRST I NEED TO SAY I FEEL SO EMBARRASSED, for posting about this so late! My NYE’s pictures turned out just awful and every day after I thought of getting a new fab outfit shot, but it just didn’t happen. Every day I said to myself: “I’ll do it tomorrow, cause my hair’s f*cked up right now”, or something like that.
The story about how I got this dress
I went to Roermond with my boyfriend’s little sister (who has a good taste in fashion), and we went to a little shop I already wanted to go for a while, but never got the time. I could kill myself for not having been there before! All kinds of original 80’s dresses: sequined, beaded, too bright hot pink plumping prom dresses, etc! I searched on eBay for months, maybe even years for these dresses! I finally found a vintage store that doesn’t take me 2 hours to get there, but just half an hour! It’s called ZigZag and smells really musty inside, you smell all the history in those dresses; I love it.
I immediately wanted this dress after seeing it; the beaded, sequined, gold and black 80’s dress, I was searching for months. But, because it’s vintage, there’s only one of it and because my card was defect and I didn’t have any cash, we bought the dress together. Lara (my boyfriend’s sister) bought the dress, and I still need to pay her my half back. It’s really slouchy and it was so weird to wear it without a belt. I know it’s made to wear without a belt, which was a bit odd to me because I always wear a belt with slouchy dresses. But because it was really short, my legs totally stood out, so you could see I wasn’t covering a baby or something, haha.
Edit: Lara actually didn’t like the fact she couldn’t own the dress completely, so I can have it and she will get one herself. Of course I do need to pay the full price now, €45. Still no problem for such a beauty…

My New Years Eve: My boyfriend and I went to a friend of him, who has an apartment with his girlfriend in Maastricht, where we could spend the night. First we drank a bit and watched Smokin’ Aces (worse movie) and then went to a friend of my boyfriend’s friend where some other friends of that friend came. OK, do you get this? Haha. I never met them before but it was really fun, we did some drinking games, listened to music and talked, till about 23:45 (11:45 PM). Then we went outside to a big square where we waited till 24:00 (12:00 PM). There was a lot of fire-works, and a guy got hit with it in his face but I believe it was his own mistake. Still quite shocking cause he had not mouth left.
After an hour we walked through the city to find a café, but we didn’t want to spend €30 each, just to get in. So we went to another café, called Metaforfoos, which had no entrance. The DJ wasn’t the very best; ask for R&B and you get Shakira and Alicia Keys. In the whole it was still much fun and we stayed till 05:00 (AM), then got some Kebab and went ‘home’. My boyfriend and I needed to sleep on ONE two-seated sofa. He slept amazingly and I slept for half an hour, IN TOTAL. And you know? I wasn’t sleepy at all, after dancing all night and not-sleeping all night.
We went home at about 11:00 (AM) and I had breakfast in McDonalds, haha, so American. The weird thing was that McDonalds was quite full with all kinds of families.

Eens iemand die wat dichterbij woont ;) Ik kom elk weekend in Roermond, werk in ’t outlet. Wel bijna altijd op ’n zaterdag, dus dan heb ik na m’n werk geen tijd meer om wat leuks te zoeken bij ZigZag ofzo…

Ik heb je overlaatst beloofd om de leuke vintage adresjes van Parijs door te sturen. Ik heb besloten om er een blogpost van te maken en ik denk dat hij morgen over overmorgen klaar gaat zijn en online staat. Kom dan maar eens een kijkje nemen ;)
