Our bamboo has become enormously big. So much larger than it looks in the picture below.

Vintage eBay wannahave

This beauty was a piece I really wanted to buy, but unluckily it was too small for me.

Make me crazy

With rockabilly and hippie for Summer. And gladiators of course. I searched for cool vintage at eBay till 04:30 AM last night, couldn’t sleep. And now all the stuff I found is making me go crazy and exited.

Down the lake

mei 9, 2008

For a change my bf took my outfit shots, as we were at his place and I just desperately wanted to take some pictures down the lake, which lies about only 50 meters away from their house. The cardigan is his’, I bought it for him last Christmas, and I actually want to have it myself too. The outfit I’m wearing underneath it is my work outfit by the way. And these pictures are from last Tuesday.

A baby-butterfly, a lot smaller than you probably think it is.

Beautiful birthday card

I recieved this postcard from one of my readers, Kathi, of the German blog Splendid. It really is the most beautiful birthday card I ever got. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday, you’re so kind!

Diane von Furstenberg

I love this likey-likey maxi-dress! It’s quite simple, but still beautiful. The colors are matched great. And though I’m still not able to buy it of course, it is ‘only’ $264.

The Costume Institutes - Part one

“The select few who are lucky enough to snag an invite to the annual Costume Institute gala (a.k.a. the Oscars of the East) are encouraged, nay, obliged, to push the sartorial envelope. And with this year’s “Superheroes” theme—one that’s brimming with caped possibility—the task appeared almost too easy. But as it turned out, many of the glitterati making their way up the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art had circumvented the theme and opted for glamour served straight up. Fortunately for the ever-growing group of stylewatchers who monitor this event with the intensity of a comic-book nerd on the trail of a first-run copy of Spider-Man, others embraced the night’s motif.” - Evelyn Crowley @ Style.com

These are my favorite looks of the evening.

Bee Shaffer, in Nina Ricci with Fred Leighton jewels. - Joy Bryant, in Emilio Pucci, with Matthew Williamson.

Coco Rocha, in Emilio Pucci (I’m so jealous of her dress!) and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, with Anja Rubik, in Emilio Pucci. - Emily Mortimer.

Natasha Poly, in Phi, with designer Andreas Melbostad. - Lou Doillon and Consuelo Castiglioni, both in Marni.

Summer arrived - New gladiators & top

mei 8, 2008

Since about a week we absolutely have the most beautiful weather in the whole wide world, here in The Netherlands. The temperature’s perfect, no rain, only sun, sun and even more sun. I immediately went shopping last Tuesday, as I had enough money since my birthday of course, and because of the nice weather I also needed some nice summer-y stuff.

This top is one of the things I got at H&M. It’s not white but has a beautiful creme color. I actually wanted to go to the only vintage store I know in this ‘area’ but it was closed. The next best store is H&M, though every one shops there. I bought this wide hippie-ish top, in a size L. It was the only size left, but I guess I would even have picked the L if it also was in my size. It’s just beautiful quality and really floaty, just easy.

The beautiful gold necklace I got from my grandma some time ago, and my World War II bullet. I’m not really able to wear only one necklace I guess, I always ‘need’ two or more when I wear one.

In the morning I also cut off some of my jeans. Old jeans from my mother and a pair Lee’s of my own, which I got about 3 years ago but had never worn.

I already bought the patent gladiator flats about three months ago at eBay, but never had the chance to wear them untill now. Finally.

Tan and turquoise

A match made in heaven; tan Marni heels and turquoise tights.

London Fashion Week Fall 2008 - Vivienne Westwood Red Label

The outfits below are only my picks, only my favorites, it’s not a general look of the complete collection. Click the designer for the full collection.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: Great collection, but most of the models have the same horrible ‘white skin, dark lips make-up’ as at Luella. Love Vivienne’s personal look (last picture).
