I was wondering: why are you so often in Berlin?

I’m not often in Berlin, it’s from the couple of weeks that I was there, last month ;)

Hey,
I am from Berlin so I just have to explain this “hole” – just in case you did not know: It’s the exact place where they burned the books in 1933 of hundreds of jewish, communist, liberal and sociocritical writers… that’s why the memorial shows empty shelves, white space for about 20000 books. In my opinion one very intersting and somehow beautiful way to commemorate the book burnings.
One serious white spot in my beloved multicolored hometown where nowadays people are allowed to express who they are and what that do and think! (yeah, especially when it comes to what they wear!) And that’s something I love about Berlin.
(btw: Love your pictures!)

I did know about half of it, but thanks for the whole story! A beautiful monument indeed.
Thanks!
