A couple of weeks ago I already let you know about the Jameson Film Experience, a unique and free event in Amsterdam. Last Wednesday, the 27th of July, the day had finally arrived.
Debuting director Spencer Susser showed his cult film Hesher for the first time ever, and the Westergasfabriek was transformed to a place where film, culture and music could meet each other. Not knowing before what the exquisite casting would be, the crowd happily found out it was no less a person than Natalie Portman as leading role.
Hesher tells the story of thirteen-year-old T.J. and his father, both shocked by the tragic loss of their mother and wife. On his way to school, T.J. meets Hesher, an anarchistic minded metalhead, after which T.J. gets confounded in lots of issues. Even though all the things that have happened, Hesher seems to be the only one able to save T.J’s life.
Have you visited the event or are you already interested in seeing the film?
