The start

Friday, about half past five in the afternoon, I met up with Yara and Anton at the station in Amsterdam. After two hours – and actually getting to know each other for a bit – we arrived in Antwerp, to find Enzo and Igor, two lovely organizers of the weekend.

Our hotel was just straight in front of the Central Station, and called the Radisson Blu Astrid. After being settled in our fantastic rooms (spacious, warm colors, fresh exotic fruits, cookies and chocolats at arrival, and on the top floor), we went out for possibly the best cocktail I ever had – ‘Lazy Red Cheeks’: fresh raspberry, vodka, limon, crushed ice – to talk about the plan for the next two days, and some Belgium fries (with all kinds of not too ordinary dippings I had never tasted before) after a screamy run through the heavy rain.  I was lucky enough to have brought my umbrella, and Yara had already reserved a spot underneath of it.

Fries in a rather cubic and very bright (read: pink) cafeteria. I searched google everywhere for the name of the place, but couldn’t find it any more. Am I right though it’s on the Waalse Kaai, near the photo museum? From the left to the right: Elodie, Igor, Tanguy, Susie, Alix, Yara. UPDATE: Igor told me it’s Frituur Erik.

And, Enzo.
