Must see: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

As some of you already know, the newest film by David Fincher – known of Fight Club and Se7en – is coming up in the Dutch cinema’s at the 19th of January. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be the first chapter of Stieg Larsson’s literary masterpiece The Millennium Trilogy, with leading roles by Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Dutch actor Yorick van Wageningen. After having seen the original series on TV last month, I’m very curious about this large-scale film! I’ll be seeing the premiere Thursday next week and will immediately let you know my opinion about it. Will you be off to the cinema when it hits the screen? Oh, and if you want to get in the mood already: besides watching the trailer you can also listen to this playlist on Spotify.

Update: Can’t go unfortunately… Elle Style Awards are the same night. Too bad!

I’ve decided to not watch this movie. I loved the Swedish version of the movies and I really dislike the way USA always have to make their own versions of movies instead of just putting subtitles on them. It’s so annoying!

Since I’m Swede I have already had the privilege to see it. I liked it, Fincher has kept it very swedish, and I think is very much like the original. I like that he also chose to use swedish actors for the smaller parts (besides Stellan Skarsgård of course) and I like Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomqvist better than Mikael Nyqvist.Rooney Mara is doing a great job as Lisbeth Salander, but I must say that I like Noomi Rapace better. Well, I could go on, but I better not. Enjoy the film!

@Marie: I completely understand! Sometimes that’s also a reason for me to not watch something… But still I’m just really curious!
@Karolin: Nice to hear it’s like the original. Still strange because the original isn’t shot a very long time ago…

    I totally agree with Marie!
I decided just the same for myself! Since I cannot imagine that the Hollywood-version will be better. For real. Excitement and tension doesn’t mean that there has to be explosions and fire and stuff every second minute. This is annoying me.

I like your photos and inspirational/funny stuff from the other posts :)

@katecrackpot: Must admit I still haven’t seen it, and totally agree with your point! Thanks :)
