Absolutely loved Jan Boelo’s show at the AIFW! I was already expecting something wonderful as you may know, but still he surprised me by throwing in some more color and all the fantastic leather and silk pieces covered in gold, metallic red, and silver foil! To me this man is one of the best designers The Netherlands have to offer, and the best collection of the entire Amsterdam International Fashion Week. The models looked refined and the overall styling was definitely adding up to the quality of the runway show.

Totally forgot about this bag… You could already see it in my previous post, but it’s been actually two years since I bought it, and I haven’t ever worn it before! Makes no sense, right?

I just arrived in Austria by the way, gonna have some really good dinner now (my body’s screaming for some decent Kaiserschmarrn since yesterday since I have been googling it again…) and hopefully the weather’s gonna be a little better compared to the past week so we can do some classic outdoorsy stuff and stroll around Bregenz.

The weather’s disturbing my mood a bit for Amsterdam International Fashion Week, but today I was finally succesful in dragging my body out in the rain and off to the Westerpark where the official shows are held. First show of the day was Frank, a label nobody did know anything about, and even with my Google-skills I wasn’t able to find something about the label online. After a show with mostly ready-to-wear items that did look of good quality, we were all surprised by the fact it was actually a collection by Zeeman, one of the cheapest clothing stores in the Netherlands (compared to Zeeman, Target quality would be high class).

In the evening I went to Edith & Ella, a Danish brand from Copenhagen which a lot of you will probably know already. Always dollface cute and wearable. The fabrics were all light-weight and I definitely saw a lot of comfortable pieces I’d love to own. Tomorrow afternoon off to the show I feel most excited about; Jan Boelo. Wondering if it will be as classy, dark and androgynous as his latest collection, of which I used quite a few items for a recent photoshoot for PS Magazine (out soon!). Off to bed now with a new episode of LA ink…

My favorite collections of the AMFI 2011 show. Designer names are mixed up on their website so unfortunately I can’t name the designers with the specific images! Wouldn’t mind to have all of these collections, would easily trade my entire closet for them… Pictures by Team Peter Stigter. Which do you like best?

Last Wednesday evening I was invited to see the Sam Friday lingerie show and store launch with a friend, which started in a small theater on the Prinsengracht. Through just one simple door we walked down the corner and suddenly arrived in the backroom of the new Sam Friday brandstore at the Leidsestraat; great concept!

Moving quickly onwards again on my new heels to the PC Hooftstraat, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Filippa K. Again a good party with delicious drinks and I met some nice people. When the Filippa K celebration was coming to an end, most of us walked back one more time to the Leidsestraat, for the afterparty of Sam Friday, including a great performance by Alain Clark. I must honestly say I have only listened to his CD once because I didn’t really think much of it, but he definitely made it happen live and acoustic in this tiny theater, without a mic! A very good night indeed.
