The weather’s disturbing my mood a bit for Amsterdam International Fashion Week, but today I was finally succesful in dragging my body out in the rain and off to the Westerpark where the official shows are held. First show of the day was Frank, a label nobody did know anything about, and even with my Google-skills I wasn’t able to find something about the label online. After a show with mostly ready-to-wear items that did look of good quality, we were all surprised by the fact it was actually a collection by Zeeman, one of the cheapest clothing stores in the Netherlands (compared to Zeeman, Target quality would be high class).

In the evening I went to Edith & Ella, a Danish brand from Copenhagen which a lot of you will probably know already. Always dollface cute and wearable. The fabrics were all light-weight and I definitely saw a lot of comfortable pieces I’d love to own. Tomorrow afternoon off to the show I feel most excited about; Jan Boelo. Wondering if it will be as classy, dark and androgynous as his latest collection, of which I used quite a few items for a recent photoshoot for PS Magazine (out soon!). Off to bed now with a new episode of LA ink…

Outfit I wore to an interview for fashion editor at a very nice location in the center of Amsterdam… Thumbs up! :) These shoes are truly not as comfortable as I would like them to be, as comfortable as I imagine myself every time I choose to wear them to be. I really should stop imagining they will fit right someday as I ended up with a total of nine blisters in the evening… Lets hope my feet will heal before Amsterdam Fashion Week officially starts!

Did some no-clothing-allowed shopping in the center afterwards, and managed to only buy necessary things like storage boxes and shampoo. Though, I must admit: I am a storage box addict. It makes me as happy as buying a new blouse. Tiny boxes you can fill with tiny things. Maybe it’s because I have lots of tiny things lying all over my room. Found some wonderful completely see-through small dark grey perspex square boxes with three seperate drawers, in sale for €5 each. That’s storage-porn to me. I would build a wall of them if I could. If they had that many in stock. If I had the money. And I’m definitely gonna buy more tomorrow if they haven’t run out.

What’s your favorite common product that’s not fashion related and you can’t get enough of? Tell me your stories!

After having been on the lookout for a great Harley Davidson tee for at least a year, I finally found this beauty at Wasteland in LA. It has some little holes, it has some little white paint marks and thin worn out fabric…. Just what I was searching for! Still paid quite a bit for it, but it was worth it. I have been searching through racks and racks of menswear tees for this one….have seen at least 2000 pieces! Tied a knot in it because it’s pretty large, and just teamed it up with some basic items, off to the Rietveld Art Academy graduation show :)

Questioning myself though; will my dear ’78 Honda bike be mad at me for wearing a Harley tee…?

So we’re staying at Yuka and Mia’s downtown loft for the first week, and almost moving further to the Fairfax and Hollywood area for our second week in Los Angeles. So far it’s been really good and we already met quite a couple of amazing people. The clothing stores are also way too good compared to Amsterdam! A little bit too great so I don’t really dare to go in anymore… Here’s a little overview of what we did, in pictures.

I was so happy to have finally found the Dolce Vita buckled ankle boots I have been searching for the entire last month! They really made my day even ten times as good. Prince was fun though it did take him two hours to start, and we’ve had such great lunches at the LA Café around the corner. Number A became my #1 shop in downtown LA and the Japanese food at Tenno Sushi is delicious and very affordable. A big thanks to Yuka for showing us around all the best shops in Little Tokyo and Hollywood, and taking us to some parties!

Oh, by the way, I cut and dyed my hair ;) Got very bored of it so needed a change! It’s still a little bit too yellow, though already a lot better compared to how it was right after I dyed it…
