Guys, I still can’t post my personal shots, our computer still doesn’t work. Right now I’m using some one else’s of course, but I can’t really upload and edit my pictures here. I really hate not to, because my blog is mostly about my personal shots, not regular fashion posts like these (though this one is nice, right? Haha).

You’ll get some outfit shots by tomorrow, I’m too tired to edit and post them today, sorry. Instead, you’ll get these fab looks.

While checking out the - so boring by the way - Halston collection, I spotted this girl. Isn’t she just scary? I mean, her waist looks like from a five-year-old. I know a lot of models look like this, but please, when they do, don’t let ‘m wear a shirt like that.

I’m so in need of that skirt. And the shoes.

The body of the former top model Katoucha Niane has been found in the River Seine, police in Paris said today.

The model, one of the first African women to attain stardom on the catwalk, disappeared on January 31 as she returned late at night to her houseboat moored near the Alexander III bridge in central Paris.

There were fears that the 47-year-old may have fallen into the river after a heavy drinking session. Police said today that her body was found yesterday and a subsequent autopsy showed no sign of foul play.

”She fell into the water and went straight to the bottom,” a source close to the investigation said.

Katoucha, as she was known in the fashion world, was born in Guinea and became the face of Yves Saint-Laurent, the French haute couture guru, in the 1980s before stepping off the catwalk to launch a campaign against female genital mutilation.

When her handbag was discovered by the front door to her boat there was initial speculation that the woman dubbed the French-speaking Naomi Campbell could have committed suicide. But police thought it more likely that the mother of three lost her footing and slipped into the river accidentally.

Her success as a model was largely credited to Saint-Laurent, who turned her into a global icon nicknamed the Peul Princess after the Peul ethnic group of Guinea and eight other West African states.

“He loved her enormously,” said Dominique Deroche, head of PR at the fashion house. “She was exactly like an Yves Saint-Laurent drawing, a proud head on a long neck, very slim but with strong shoulders, made for haute couture. She looked magnificent on the catwalk and often wore very powerful outfits like a Cubist navy-blue dress with doves around the neckline.”

I adore Twiggy (sixties) and her style. Already for a long time actually, but I still always wanted to do a post about her. You can see a lot more beautiful pictures when clicking on the ‘Read More‘ tag! Here’s a Dutch biography, I’m not really into translating the whole text, sorry:

“Geboren: Twiggy wordt geboren als Lesly Hornby op 19 september 1949 in Noord Londen. Door haar petite, fragiele lichaam wordt ze vaak gepest en krijgt bijnamen als ‘Sticks’ en ‘Twig’. Ze stopt met de middelbare school en gaat fulltime werken in een kapperszaak.

Carrière: Haar toenmalige vriend, de 10 jaar oudere Nigel Davies, ziet potentie in Twiggy en regelt een fotosessie met bevriend fotograaf Barry Lategan. Onder de indruk van de foto’s schrijft Deidre McSharry van ‘The Daily Express’ een artikel over de tiener. Ze verklaart haar tot ‘The new face of 1966’. Daarnaast schrijft ze een autobiografie, deze wordt een bestseller. Tegenwoordig zet Twiggy zich actief in voor de strijd tegen het dragen van bont en ook is zij actief binnen verschillende organisaties voor borstkankeronderzoek.

Weetje: In 1977 trouwt Twiggy met acteur Michael Whitney. Het echtpaar krijgt een dochter Carly: vijf jaar later overlijdt haar man aan een hartaanval. In 1988 vindt ze het geluk opnieuw bij acteur/regisseur Leigh Lawson.

Nog een weetje: Supermodel Kate Moss wordt ook wel de Twiggy van de jaren negentig genoemd.”

I think she isn’t special enough to be called a style icon, but her style is above average. Actually, she reminds me a bit of Cory Kennedy, which I don’t mean positive. By the way, she gets spotted on the Cobra Snake too sometimes. Although, she is worth it to be posted. Many pictures are from Jalouse magazine, but I believe she’s wearing her own clothes. She looks like 16 to me, but already is 23.

I love the dress she designed together with Topshop and I love her haircut. She wore this dress at the Swarovski Fashion Rocks concert in London for The Prince’s Trust on October 18th. Pictures from I*Heart*That.

In New York, I especially took these pictures for The Darialogist, who recently asked if she could copy one of my Daria-pictures. This is for you ;) Daria Werbowy/H&M on buildings and buses, everywhere in NYC. By the way, look how big the first one is, notice the yellow van.

A Dutch supermodel with an obsession for fashion. I love her looks! The best inspiration you can get. She dresses herself better than any catwalk-stylist could do.

I just don’t know how they allow girls who are looking like a skeleton to walk on catwalks. I think it’s prettier when catwalkmodels are thin, but not too thin, not like this. She’s just a walking bone structure. The girl would be so beautiful when she was a just a bit more voluminous. Now, she looks like she’s dead.
