Cocktails and Pierce

Short note: I’ll be away from Friday till Sunday, somewhere in Germany. Therefor, probably no posts this weekend. Plus I’ve been featured at Refinery 29, the Alexander Wang / ‘Wangster’ post. Though I personally never thought of him while putting such an outfit together.

Last Saturday I went to a bar and to the cinema’s with a friend. The restaurant was really beautiful and cosy, I’ll definitely go back, but not for the cocktails though, haha. I got a vodka-tonic, but I guess the slice of lemon contained more juice than the amount of vodka the badtender put in.

After the drinks we went to see Mamma Mia!. Didn’t really feel like going to that movie, but I had to choose between The Mummy and this one, so. It wasn’t really my thing; an extremely high amount of happiness and smiling faces ALL the time, and I just don’t like musicals. Well, after a few cheap and distasteful rosé wines, I was able to watch it. Oh, the funniest part though: Pierce Brosnan, singing. He can’t sing at all, even after all the studio adjustments it still sounded hilarious. Especially for a guy you know for his role as Bond, James Bond, of course.

The polaroid camera is that old it’s even still made in the U.S.A, probably from ‘77 or such. I searched Google, but found out the film for this one is taken from the market at about the same time, and eBay couldn’t help me either. Does anyone possibly know where to find it (Kodak PR10 film)?

How I store: Shoes

Some time ago, a girl emailed me to ask how I stored my shoes, as she didn’t know what to do with hers. Well, here’s my answer.

Most of them are in this shoe rack on my door which can hold a maximum of 36 pairs. It was a real bargain, about only €10. You’re able to see the ones I wear the most, the others are behind all the scarfs.

Some beneath a small antique table, which happened to have the perfect measurements to store them.

And the ones I still didn’t have enough room for and aren’t being worn that much (my boots for example) are just standing, lying and hanging in my closet.

I’ve reached the number of a 1000 posts. It’s really weird to think about that actually.

These pictures are ones I took in my grandmother’s house a long time ago. Do you know I’ll actually be the next owner of that chair?

I was already so into this lamp for a long while, but it was one of the only few things that weren’t being sold yet. There was a tag with the text ‘Not for sale’. I already asked the shop owner once about it, and she said she was going to sell it, but just not right now.

Like on several Wednesdays, I went to the thrift store looking for new arrivals, and the beautiful beloved lamp jumped up in my face. Again, I asked her about selling it.

Me: “WHEN you’re going to sell it, how much will you ask?”
She: “€2.”
Me: “I’ll give you €5 right now.”
She: “I need to think about that, there already asked me a bunch of people about this lamp.”
Me: “So what about €8?”
She: “Okay, you’ll get it for €5. I’m not into ripping you off.”
In my head: “Yeah, I got it, I got it, she likes me, she likes me :)”

The lamp itself is behind the middle gold part, so it’s not a candle or something but a real lamp. And the beads are real crystal, not plastic or glas. Two beads are missing, but I’ll fix that.
