EM-soup

juni 21, 2008

Ingredients: 0,8 L vegetable&tomato-soup, 2 unions, 100 mL coffee-milk. De-li-cious, and oh-so easy. I gave it the name EM-soup (or actually EK in Dutch), as I’m constantly making this during the breaks at the UEFA 2008 soccer matches on the telly and because it’s orange: The color of The Netherlands. Sounds ridiculous, right? Anyway, just try it yourself.

We did so well, by the way! 3-0 to Italy, 4-1 to France and 2-0 to Romania. Tonight it’s Russia.

And it’s not like I EVER watch sports on the television, but I do watch European & World Championships soccer.

Birthdaygirl

april 30, 2008

My birthday was actually yesterday (April 29th), but I was late home from work and not really able to post anymore. This post, including pictures, is about yesterday.

I went to Eindhoven again, for ilovevintage.nl, and needed to do styling AND model at the same time, as all the models are on holiday right now. My boss already told me I needed to do so last Monday through the telephone, but I didn’t expect to model yesterday already, so it was a bit of a surprise, haha. As I always need to photograph at home all by myself (outfit-shots) it was quite weird to actually being photographed by someone else.

I my opinion it didn’t went tótally great, but I guess OK, though I really hate the fact my hair looked COMPLETELY yellow in the shots and even dirty, though it looks ‘normal’ on the shots I took myself (the outfit-shots in this post). I just washed it the same morning, and at the pictures of the photoshoot it looks like I didn’t wash my hair in 2 weeks.

After the shoot I needed to add new vintage clothing to the webshop for the first time and we were done by 19:30 (7:30PM). The train was delayed, so I got myself some fries as I also hadn’t eaten for a while and catched my train by 20:15 (08:15PM), in Venlo I took the bus by 21:20 (09:20PM) and I was finally home at 21:45 (09:45PM). It indeed takes me some time to travel home, but luckily I don’t mind travelling.

I already called my boyfriend if he still wanted to come, and he did, so we were ‘home’ at the same time. As I’m celebrating my birthday next Friday I didn’t expect him to already bring me a present but he did. He knew I needed a new perfume, and he knew I really liked The One, by Dolce&Gabbana, though it’s not really the cheapest perfume. Still, he bought it for me. Lucky girl.

I celebrated getting this delicious gift by making myself a delicious cocktail. A mix of cassis syrup, Martini, red wodka and energy drink.

New vintage dress, H&M scarf and out to dinner

april 23, 2008

The dress is one I bought at ilovevintage.nl a while ago, but didn’t wore yet. I shortened it a bit too, because I thought it was too long. You can’t really see the actual design of it in this shot, so I’ll make some other shots of the dress only. The H&M scarf is one of the two I ordered, and although just like the other one everyone will own it in a while, I couldn’t resist this soft floral lila beauty with fringes. Too bad you can’t really see my lamé tights in this shot.

My dad and I went out to dinner today, because of the nice weather (we were finally able to sit down at the terrace). I drank two Martini-7up and ate tagliatelle with mushrooms and potato-spinach-soup. The soup was delicious as always, but the tagliatelle didn’t really have any flavour though.

A shot from the terrace, to illustrate how boring my town is. See! Nothing happens over here!

Tarte Tatin and the red dress

februari 19, 2008

Luckily, I had only 3 classes, so I was home again at 11:40 AM. While searching for some nice books, I found a dessert-book. I really felt like making something sweet, so chose for Tarte Tatin (French upside down apple pie). My dad still needed to go to the market, so I asked him to bring some ingredients. It didn’t look like the picture in the book, but it tasted delicious! In the picture you can only see slices of apple (a layer of about 3 to 4 cm thick), but at the bottom there’s a layer of dough.

It looks kinda small in the picture, but that’s only because it lies on an over-over-oversized plate.

Delicious meal

januari 2, 2008

I made something very easy but very delicious too. Tomatos baked with an egg, on brown bread, with pickles and a bit of cheese on top. A lot of fresh crunched pepper, and your meal is complete. This was really so tasty.

Sweet kiwi slices

november 28, 2007

Right now, I’m enjoing kiwi slices dipped in honey plus whipped cream. So, so good.
