We changed places for the Fairfax and Hollywood area, and are now staying at Beverly Boulevard, close to some of the best stores at Melrose Avenue and around the corner of the Fairfax flea market. So far so good!

So we’re staying at Yuka and Mia’s downtown loft for the first week, and almost moving further to the Fairfax and Hollywood area for our second week in Los Angeles. So far it’s been really good and we already met quite a couple of amazing people. The clothing stores are also way too good compared to Amsterdam! A little bit too great so I don’t really dare to go in anymore… Here’s a little overview of what we did, in pictures.

I was so happy to have finally found the Dolce Vita buckled ankle boots I have been searching for the entire last month! They really made my day even ten times as good. Prince was fun though it did take him two hours to start, and we’ve had such great lunches at the LA Café around the corner. Number A became my #1 shop in downtown LA and the Japanese food at Tenno Sushi is delicious and very affordable. A big thanks to Yuka for showing us around all the best shops in Little Tokyo and Hollywood, and taking us to some parties!

Oh, by the way, I cut and dyed my hair ;) Got very bored of it so needed a change! It’s still a little bit too yellow, though already a lot better compared to how it was right after I dyed it…

Just arrived in Los Angeles last Monday! We’re already having a great time (after a travel of 24 hours), the weather’s great, the atmosphere is really lovely and anything but stressy, we’ve already met some really nice people on the rooftop, and we’re so thankful of Yuka for having Fayette and me stay with her, Mia and their three miniature dogs for a week!

We will travel to Hollywood next week and will stay in a hotel there, after which we’ll go to Santa Monica for another week. If you are from L.A. and have any good recommendations, or traveled here before, let us know! We’re here for just over three weeks, so have enough time to visit anything. Off to a Prince concert next Friday!

Last Wednesday evening I was invited to see the Sam Friday lingerie show and store launch with a friend, which started in a small theater on the Prinsengracht. Through just one simple door we walked down the corner and suddenly arrived in the backroom of the new Sam Friday brandstore at the Leidsestraat; great concept!

Moving quickly onwards again on my new heels to the PC Hooftstraat, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Filippa K. Again a good party with delicious drinks and I met some nice people. When the Filippa K celebration was coming to an end, most of us walked back one more time to the Leidsestraat, for the afterparty of Sam Friday, including a great performance by Alain Clark. I must honestly say I have only listened to his CD once because I didn’t really think much of it, but he definitely made it happen live and acoustic in this tiny theater, without a mic! A very good night indeed.
