The Costume Institutes - Part five

juni 22, 2008

My final favorite looks of the gala.

Piper Perabo. - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in Burberry.

Elizabeth Banks, in Prada with Fred Leighton jewels. - Jessica Seinfeld, in Verdura jewels with a Devi Kroell clutch, with her husband, Jerry Seinfeld.

Sarah Silverman, in Dolce & Gabbana. - Lady Amanda Harlech, in Chanel Haute Couture, with Vogue’s Grace Coddington, in Marni.

Stella McCartney’s screening for The Party

juni 19, 2008

“Less than 24 hours after walking the red carpet with pal Kate Moss at the Costume Institute gala on Monday night, Stella McCartney was on the opposite side of the country, hosting a cocktail and special screening of the Peter Sellers classic The Party at her West Hollywood boutique. The Tuesday-night garden party brought out a crowd that included Nicole Richie, Christian Louboutin, China Chow, Frankie Rayder, and Amber Valletta. “It’s great to be back in L.A.,” said McCartney. “I never have to pack much, because luckily I have the store.” The consummate hostess made sure her tables were stocked with every treat imaginable, from Mentos to Marlboros, the latter courtesy of an old-fashioned cigarette girl. While many guests were thrilled with the mini grilled cheeses, others were happy just to catch up. “I met Stella when we were five or six and they came to stay with us,” recalled Rashida Jones. “They were like the foreign fun, and we loved it.” Charlize Theron added, “She’s just such a lovely lady. We knew we were going have a good time.” - Victoria Namkung @ Style.com

My favorites looks.

Amber Valletta and Christian McCaw. - Joel Madden and Nicole Richie.

Rosanna Arquette. - China Chow.

Anita Briem and Emmanuelle Chriqui. - Angie Harmon and Brett Ratner.

The Costume Institutes - Part four

juni 7, 2008

My favorite looks of the eve.

Eli Manning with Abby McGrew, in J. Mendel. - Kate Moss, in Stella McCartney (love the simplicity and color of the dress!) and Fred Leighton jewels, with Stella McCartney, in her own design and Fred Leighton jewels.

Karl Lagerfeld. - Kate Bosworth, in vintage Chanel Haute Couture and Pierre Hardy shoes with Chanel Fine Jewelry. I absolutely love the dress, but I do think the turquoise eyeshadow really is too much.

Caroline Trentini, in vintage Thierry Mugler and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. - Diane von Furstenberg, in her own design, with Barry Diller.

Chloé Sevigny in Bebe

juni 6, 2008

Chloe Sevigny was spotted wearing this heart print dress from Imitation of Christ designer Tara Subkoff’s exclusive line for Bebe. Ruffled Wrap Dress, $119 at bebe.com.

I usually don’t like polkadots, but this dres is c-u-t-e! And for some reason it just really is too much, but then again the too-much-factor fits the simple styling.

The Costume Institutes - Part three

mei 24, 2008

More of my favorites of the party.

Byrdie Bell, in Bally and David Yurman jewels, with Brian Atwood. - Eugenia Silva, in Armani Privé.

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce with Scarlett Johansson, in Dolce & Gabbana and Fred Leighton jewels. - Georgina Chapman, in Marchesa and Bulgari jewels; Dita Von Teese, in Marchesa and a Swarovski clutch; and Keren Craig, in Marchesa.

Coco Brandolini (love that dress!) and Alberta Ferretti, both in dresses by the designer. Ferretti wears Chopard jewels. - Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie.

The Costume Institutes - Part two

mei 14, 2008

More favorite looks of the eve.

Michelle Trachtenberg, in a vintage skirt and top with Kwiat diamonds and a Cesare Paciotti clutch. I would normally think this is too trashy, but somehow it just really suits her. Can only be worn by brunettes in my opinion, it would cheap on blondes. - Christina Ricci, in Givenchy Haute Couture and Bulgari jewels.

Jessica Stam, in Proenza Schouler and Jimmy Choo shoes. - Kristin Davis, in Michael Kors and Fred Leighton jewels.

Barneys New York’s Julie Gilhart, in Christopher Kane, with Rogan Gregory. - Claudia Schiffer, in Valentino Haute Couture and Fred Leighton jewels, with Valentino Garavani.

The Costume Institutes - Part one

mei 9, 2008

“The select few who are lucky enough to snag an invite to the annual Costume Institute gala (a.k.a. the Oscars of the East) are encouraged, nay, obliged, to push the sartorial envelope. And with this year’s “Superheroes” theme—one that’s brimming with caped possibility—the task appeared almost too easy. But as it turned out, many of the glitterati making their way up the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art had circumvented the theme and opted for glamour served straight up. Fortunately for the ever-growing group of stylewatchers who monitor this event with the intensity of a comic-book nerd on the trail of a first-run copy of Spider-Man, others embraced the night’s motif.” - Evelyn Crowley @ Style.com

These are my favorite looks of the evening.

Bee Shaffer, in Nina Ricci with Fred Leighton jewels. - Joy Bryant, in Emilio Pucci, with Matthew Williamson.

Coco Rocha, in Emilio Pucci (I’m so jealous of her dress!) and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, with Anja Rubik, in Emilio Pucci. - Emily Mortimer.

Natasha Poly, in Phi, with designer Andreas Melbostad. - Lou Doillon and Consuelo Castiglioni, both in Marni.

SJP shot @ SATC The Movie

april 30, 2008

Sarah Jessica Parker in an oversized Burberry coat and wonderful dress, at the set of Sex And The City, The Movie. Love how the colors of her bag, shoes and coat also are in the background.

Heidi Klum in Grace Sun

april 23, 2008

Heidi Klum added pop to her beaded little black dress by Grace Sun with electric blue pumps and a fuzzy coat at a party for Marc Jacobs at Mercer Hotel in New York. Beaded Dress, $195 on sale at tobi.com. Source: I *Heart* That.

You know I’m not really a celeb-poster, but some looks I just can’t resist posting.

Mandy Moore in Ports 1961

maart 26, 2008

I don’t like to post celebs, but if they wear an interesting outfit, I just feel like I need to.

Mandy Moore attended the Ports 1961 Fashion Event in New York City on February 4th and wore this silk dress by the designer. Don’t you think here bangs are amazing too? Silk Ombré Blouson Dress, $1,195 at saksfifthavenue.com. Source: I *Heart* That.

I do think the red Louboutin soles don’t match the rest.

Style icon: Zooey Deschanel

maart 18, 2008

I actually believe I already did a post about her somewhen, so this will be an update. Click Continue reading to see all the 24 outfits.

That first dress! Gosh, all the dresses actually.

Isn’t the third pic just amazing?

First dress is so unique, love it.

Adore the fifth picture, best combination. And god, don’t dye your hair blonde again.

Jon & John

maart 14, 2008

Don’t we all want our own Jon Bon Jovi and John Legend? At least I do.

A few years ago I fell so in love with Jon’s smile in the video of Livin’ On A Prayer (you know, that moment he turns and starts to sing the first line ”Tommy used to work on the docks“). I went to a concert of Bon Jovi two years ago. So amazing. Already adore him since I was 10 or something. He’ll probably be the most hansom guy I ’know’.

I got John Legend’s cd Once Again about a year ago. I still get drowned in his eyes and can’t stop listening to his songs.

Alexa Chung & Peaches Geldof

maart 6, 2008

Parts of an old Asos newsletter. I really like the nude color in Peaches’ dress.

Chanelle Hayes is Victoria Beckham?

februari 9, 2008

This is just too much. I’m not a fan of Vic’s slutty style, but I don’t think any one can do this. I mean; style stalking? Chanelle Hayes is an ex-participant of the British Big Brother and ’stalking’ Vic since last year. She’s just pathetic.
