Bodyshop goods

juni 7, 2008

Bought these delicious things at The Bodyshop last week. Almond oil hand scrub, Honey moisturising conditioner and Mango body scrub. But the cutest thing is at the back.

Birthdaygirl

april 30, 2008

My birthday was actually yesterday (April 29th), but I was late home from work and not really able to post anymore. This post, including pictures, is about yesterday.

I went to Eindhoven again, for ilovevintage.nl, and needed to do styling AND model at the same time, as all the models are on holiday right now. My boss already told me I needed to do so last Monday through the telephone, but I didn’t expect to model yesterday already, so it was a bit of a surprise, haha. As I always need to photograph at home all by myself (outfit-shots) it was quite weird to actually being photographed by someone else.

I my opinion it didn’t went tótally great, but I guess OK, though I really hate the fact my hair looked COMPLETELY yellow in the shots and even dirty, though it looks ‘normal’ on the shots I took myself (the outfit-shots in this post). I just washed it the same morning, and at the pictures of the photoshoot it looks like I didn’t wash my hair in 2 weeks.

After the shoot I needed to add new vintage clothing to the webshop for the first time and we were done by 19:30 (7:30PM). The train was delayed, so I got myself some fries as I also hadn’t eaten for a while and catched my train by 20:15 (08:15PM), in Venlo I took the bus by 21:20 (09:20PM) and I was finally home at 21:45 (09:45PM). It indeed takes me some time to travel home, but luckily I don’t mind travelling.

I already called my boyfriend if he still wanted to come, and he did, so we were ‘home’ at the same time. As I’m celebrating my birthday next Friday I didn’t expect him to already bring me a present but he did. He knew I needed a new perfume, and he knew I really liked The One, by Dolce&Gabbana, though it’s not really the cheapest perfume. Still, he bought it for me. Lucky girl.

I celebrated getting this delicious gift by making myself a delicious cocktail. A mix of cassis syrup, Martini, red wodka and energy drink.

New nailpolishes

april 26, 2008

After wanting black nailpolish for at least a year, I finally found some. Of course I did see some before, but the ones I saw were OR the crappy and sticky €3 versions OR the expensive €20+ versions. Now I finally found a decent one for a decent price.

Also got myself some red nailpolish (for yesterday’s gala), which is a bit darker than my other red one , and a nail polish correcter pencil, which is really handy because I’m not always able to only polish my nails, but my fingers too.

The Bodyshop

april 8, 2008

After having bought my new wedges, I went to The Bodyshop to get myself some new bottles of my favorite body wash: Cocao butter creamy body wash for dry skin. If you haven’t tried this one yet, you really should! It’s the best there is, it really smoothens your skin and it makes you want to eat yourself, the cocao butter flavour’s really delicious!

Roses

maart 16, 2008

As I didn’t have any time to edit and upload my outfit yesterday, I’ll post it today. There are roses on my scarf, roses on my dress, and roses on my tights. Makes the day a bit brighter, right? My boyfriend asked me if I was pregnant, but my dad liked my outfit though (yes, my not-fashion-interested DAD! How remarkable). At least I felt great in it.

And did you notice I dyed my hair? Probably not, but look, there’s no *I don’t know how to say this word in English*. In Dutch we say ‘uitgroei‘ (probably really hard to prenounce for foreigners right? Haha, please, give it a try!), and if I literally translate it, this would be ‘out-grow’, which isn’t right either. You know what I mean, those few centimeters/inches after you didn’t dye your hair for a few weeks or months. Please, Wendy, Susie, Hailey, anyone, help me in the search for this word.

*Problem solved thanks to Abby.

My hair doesn’t totally look like in the shot (I needed to brighten it up and put the contrast right), but it’s like sooooo natural Selina-ginger-ish right now. I love it. But did you know I yesterday thought my hair was quite short though? You’ll probably want to hit me right now, not?

P.S. I don’t use any blusher and never will. Please don’t think I went a little bit too mad with red blusher or anything, I just always have that red cheeks.

Tests, new buys and orange detailing

maart 10, 2008

I had my oral exam English today and got a 8.1. Not really happy about that actually. It was quite unfair though, in the picture-part I needed to talk about a picture of a hommock (NL: hangmat), with a white background! The other two girls of my group needed to describe some really easy pictures, with a lot to tell about and WITH a background.

Also today, I needed to make a BV3/CKV3 (’handicraft’) theory test today, and though it was quite easy, there were just too many questions. We didn’t have any time to think, only to write! I mean, I wrote 5 pages (A4) in only one hour! Even the teacher who made the test admitted it was too much actually, AFTER making it.

Yeah, I know I need to dye my hair again, so please don’t comment about that, haha. I bought new dye last Saturday!

The vintage orange scarf is one of the two I bought last Saturday, I’ll post the other one tomorrow. It’s really a lot larger than you’ll probably expect, plus it has cute fringes and the color goes from light yellow to light orange.

Did you know professional hairdresser’s hair dye is a lot cheaper than the normal packages you get at the drugstore? I got double the size, plus of course better quality, for the same amount of money! So in stead of dying it once with low-quality dye, you can dye it twice with professional care. The first bottle is developer, the second is dye and the other two bottles are color care shampoo and conditioner, which I got for free.

3 very small buys

februari 19, 2008

Bought these little things last week, not very interesting, but well, here they are:

  • Dylon fabric dye, color #10 Cherry Flame, €2,40.
  • Labello Classic (the first time I ever bought the ‘Classic’ one. Yay.), €1,99. I think it smells really good.
  • Purple-ish pink nailcolor, Wild ‘n Something (?), €2,50

A bit of shopping to please myself

januari 18, 2008

I actually needed to work till 17.00 (05.00 PM) last Saturday, but they already sent me away at 16.15 (04.15 PM) because they didn’t need me anymore (that single day!). I didn’t like it, cause I need to make some money here, otherwise I can’t buy anything. Duh! (OK, childish behavior stops, now.)

Because I work in a designer outlet center (Roermond) there are so many shops around me, the whole day long. So, to please myself I went shopping, just a littly little bit, for about an hour.

A found this beautiful floral 100% cashmere scarf at Hugo Boss, for only €9. The original price was €79! That’s 88,6% off! OK, nerd, that’s enough too. I believe it’s handpainted or something.

Then, I went to Hallhuber (German type of Vero Moda/H&M, only a bit more expensive). I bought this black patent leather studded belt I already wanted for a while, for €10,95, original price was €15,95. Then I went further to The Body Shop, too check out their sale items. I bought this so deliciously smelling grapefruit moisturizer (smells like real fruit), for only €1, and almond body scrub with oils for only €4 (smells really delicious too, you just want to put it in your mouth).

Total: 9+10,95+1+5= €24,95. Not too much, right? Although that were my last euro’s. But: I also saw some beautiful 60’s dresses, picked my size and wanted to try them on, but at the last moment I hung them back! Isn’t that like so good from me? Yes it is!

Partynight

december 11, 2007

First after-coloring-outfit-shot. My hair was sooooo yellow, it still is, but gladly not that yellow any more. My bf and I went out till 3 ‘o clock (I danced constantly), then ate fries and kebab, and cycled back home. We were home at 04.30 am, and yay, I needed to work the next morning. I didn’t wore the cardigan when we went out, of course. All people at my work told me my hair looked ‘fine’, told me with stupid faces it was ‘gold not yellow’. Oh please, don’t try to make me feel better, I’m not blind. I was a canary. The lightning in our shop is so so so bright, it makes my hair even more yellow.

Coloring

First, I colored my hair with light blonde coloring, and it got all orange. Then I colored it with decolorizing hair dye, and it got so f*cking yellow. Just yellow, not blonde with a shade of yellow, but really yellow. So, I also bought a dark type of blonde, for when everything worked out worse, and dyed my hair again, for the third time. Unfortunately, my hair didn’t ‘absorb’ the paint, just for about 10% or something.

I spent over €30 for coloring my hair yellow! How stupid am I?!

And sorry for not posting this immediately, but I had a lot of older pictures from before coloring I still needed to post.

Edit: I can live with my hair now, but I already bought red hair dye, for my next coloring session.

Keira Knighley’s new haircut

december 7, 2007

I love her new haircut and I love her make-up even more I think. Fabulous. I so hate the fact that celebs can go for a short cut and a week later long locks thanks to extensions. Sometimes I wanna go for a short haircut to, or experiment on myself, but I know I want to have my long locks back the next week.

Going for blonde

november 22, 2007

(You could take a look at this post first.)

Yep. I’ve decided to color my hair. Platina blonde. I just can’t resist this colorless color, look at these pictures! Damn, they’re great. Errr, when? Shall tomorrow will be allright? You think? I don’t want to wait another week. I will also get another color for when everything works out worse, so like when I was canary yellow (again!). Yeeha; Tomorrow is the day I’m going to kill my hair. I can’t wait to scare my dad when he comes home.

Blonde

november 18, 2007

Ah, I can’t get those beautiful platina blond coupes out of my head. I don’t know if it will look good on me, but I’m so in love with that type of blonde. When I look at Emma Nygren outfits, I always look at her beautiful hair. I tried blonde once, and it got all canary yellow. Maybe when I color it two times after each other and wash it ten times with silver shampoo (for old grey haired people, to get the yellow out of their hair), the color will be as nice as her haircolor? Do you think this will work? It would kill my hair, but I do want to change it.

Please tell me! Have you tried this before, and how did you do this? Or what do you think about me coloring my hair platina? And shall I go to a Halloween type of store and try how I look with this haircolor with a wig? Oh, I sound so desperate.

New mascara

oktober 18, 2007

A while ago I bought Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Waterproof Mascara, but immediately brought it back because it was really worthless. Now I bought L’Oréal Intensifique and I think it’s quite good. But, I’m still searching for my ultimate mascara. I got a Tokyo by Kenzo sample (for him), which I quite like for my boyfriend and a Beckham Intimately Night (for her), which I think is really strong and quite standard.
