ABOUT

Made one of my goals in life come true by moving to Amsterdam in 2009, sharing an apartment with my flatmate, and Sphynx cat Dylan. I have my own little webshop Ruby Tuesday Store full of jewelry and more, and I’m trying to build up a styling portfolio.

Currently I work fulltime as a Fashion Editor for a Dutch website writing about all the latest fashion news, celebs and next season’s collections. Besides writing I also report about fashion-related events and take streetstyle pictures on the streets of Amsterdam.

In my spare time I love listening to music from the seventies, splurge on good vegetarian food, purchase way too many shoes, party and hang out with friends, drink red wines at my favorite gaybar, and actually seldomly go back to my hometown in the south of the Netherlands.

I do appreciate growing up in a tiny village and enjoying nature at the fullest (being a real tomboy that built sheds, climbed trees and crafted spheres), but moving from such a town to the capital of the Netherlands also makes me enjoy Amsterdam to the fullest. This includes the fact that there are always people on the streets you walk, the beautiful canals, the everywhere socializing, even the dirty streets and sounds of public transport.

My next goal in life is somehow moving to Los Angeles, my all-time favorite city in the world. Getting a work-visa, winning a greencard or finding a short-term husband: I’m up for anything… Honestly.

What also interests me a lot are contrasts, from art to people and outfits. I am a Taurus, stubborn and creative, high sensitive, a real optimist, probably dream the most wicked dreams of all, have a family-issue called sarcasm, appreciate little things a lot, open towards and curious about anything, did two years of art academy, love tattoos, into big cities in general, my clothes don’t fit my closets, always honest, also when it doesn’t work in my advantage, and love my technologic gadgets in life. Couldn’t live without my dearest friends Apple and Canon.

My ambitions include styling, writing, photography, jewelry design, illustration, tattooing and graphic design. As you can probably tell I sometimes find things hard to choose from.

x,

Renée
