Bf’s hair change

februari 29, 2008

My boyfriend just told me he millimetred his hair. Oh gosh. I will see it tomorrow, but I really don’t know what to think right now. He already did this about 2 years ago, and I didn’t like it. Though, now I like guys with millimetred hair a lot, but I don’t know if I will like it on him. Still, I SO MUCH PREFER A LOT OF HAIR (at least on the head), like afro’s or something.

Should I get him a wig by tomorrow? Haha.

Playful extraordinaire

I wanted to do so much this week, but I haven’t slept that many, so I’m tired every day. I wanted to sew, sew, and sew even more, but I just couldn’t start. Quite a childish outfit right? Haha. I didn’t really know what to wear, but for just 2 classes, it didn’t matter that much.

Tomorrow finally is my fashion design workshop, in the World Fashion Center in Amsterdam! Including Dutch designer/couturier Bas Kosters, Abkva students and CosmoGIRL! to do a report in their mag! I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. Or maybe the day after, if I’m tired.

Outside streetstyle shots @ Balenciaga

Outside the Balenciaga show: A lot of models and a lot of black.

I’m so in need of that skirt. And the shoes.

Sinha-Stanic: Despite these few looks, it’s a horrible collection.

Ex-supermodel Katoucha Niane found drowned in Seine

The body of the former top model Katoucha Niane has been found in the River Seine, police in Paris said today.

The model, one of the first African women to attain stardom on the catwalk, disappeared on January 31 as she returned late at night to her houseboat moored near the Alexander III bridge in central Paris.

There were fears that the 47-year-old may have fallen into the river after a heavy drinking session. Police said today that her body was found yesterday and a subsequent autopsy showed no sign of foul play.

1993 & 2008

”She fell into the water and went straight to the bottom,” a source close to the investigation said.

Katoucha, as she was known in the fashion world, was born in Guinea and became the face of Yves Saint-Laurent, the French haute couture guru, in the 1980s before stepping off the catwalk to launch a campaign against female genital mutilation.

When her handbag was discovered by the front door to her boat there was initial speculation that the woman dubbed the French-speaking Naomi Campbell could have committed suicide. But police thought it more likely that the mother of three lost her footing and slipped into the river accidentally.

Her success as a model was largely credited to Saint-Laurent, who turned her into a global icon nicknamed the Peul Princess after the Peul ethnic group of Guinea and eight other West African states.

“He loved her enormously,” said Dominique Deroche, head of PR at the fashion house. “She was exactly like an Yves Saint-Laurent drawing, a proud head on a long neck, very slim but with strong shoulders, made for haute couture. She looked magnificent on the catwalk and often wore very powerful outfits like a Cubist navy-blue dress with doves around the neckline.”

Outfit shot & new bag!

februari 28, 2008

I wore jeans for a day, and because the outfit isn’t that special itself, I added a lot of accessories. I wore the second-hand bangles and button-up floral top for the first time.

Yesterday when I got home, there was a large package waiting for me. I finally recieved the Friis & Company bag and clutch I got for free with my year’s subsribtion to Grazia (Dutch weekly fashion mag). It looked sooooo much better in real! I expected it to be half the size! I thought there were made pictures to make something look better than in real…

Look! Dip-dye buttons! No, just kidding, but I do love the different tones of pink.

As you can see I lost one of the pins on my shoes, so I’m just ripping the other one off too.

She always shoots the most amazing pictures, but isn’t this just simply too beautiful to only call it ‘amazing’?

Louise Goldin: Great refreshing designs! Superhero-comic-style. Or actually I think it would be worn by the bad guys, not the hero’s. Picked 18 out of the 25 looks.

Prints and purple

februari 27, 2008

I needed to take a picture inside, because I kept putting off the time I wanted to take an outfit shot. So by then it was already dark. The first of the two is without flash, after brightening it to +80, and contrast at +40, with PSP8. It looked all black before that. I really hate shooting with flash, but because you can’t really see all the colors in the first one I needed to. Though, in the flash one, you can’t see the pleats.

Nothing really interesting happened today. Oh, I so want yesterday’s salmoncocktail again. I usually never eat fish. I can only eat fishsticks, fishfries and salmoncocktails actually.

Dress, shirt, tights, belt, earrings, bracelet (haha, that’s a LOT): H&M
Scarf, watch: Vintage
Granny flats: Bullboxer

Thrifted accessories

I bought ALL these things, for just €5 in total! You wouldn’t get even one of these accessories in a normal shop for that price. I already bought them a while ago (forgot to post), maybe you recognise a few things from outfit shots.

Two leather clip purses: Black with silver and brown with gold.

Brown and gold necklace with matching earrings.

4 chain necklaces (one broken), 2 beaded (one broken) and a really unique necklace, made out of metal and rope. Also a pair of pink square earrings and a large bow hairclip.

The cutest little porcelain owl, only 3cm’s high.

Two headbands with charms, a pair of geek glasses and a sporty watch.

And a lot of earrings and 2 pendants.

Look at the unique closing of the white pairs (above right). You need to spin that little thing to make them tighter or more loose.
